Sweet Things

Here are some tips to prepare for your Sweet appointment:

  • If it’s your first time sugaring, I highly recommend a 2-week grow out for two reasons.  1) It will be less painful and 2) you will get cleaner results.  The longer the hair the better.  I know it’s tough growing it out but I promise after the hair is sugared it’s a whole different experience.

  • For my returning Sweets, I recommend 4-6 weeks between appointments.  You will notice at 4 weeks all the hair is out to sugar and I say 6 weeks because of comfort.  After 6 weeks the hair is longer and the sugar will pull on it which isn't the best feeling, but I always leave that up to my client.  If you struggle with ingrowns and/or cysts keeping your appointments 4 weeks apart will significantly help clear your skin.

  • Avoid exfoliating area to be sugared 24 hours prior to your sugaring treatment.

  • Avoid any oils or moisturizing creams the day of your appointment.

  • Avoid sun exposure to skin 24 hours prior to sugaring treatment.  Sunburned skin WILL NOT be sugared.

  • Cleansing the area to be sugared thoroughly is appreciated.

Home Care for your Sweet Spot:

  • Exfoliate daily…not too rough! Gently apply pressure in a circular motion and pay attention to the bikini line.

  • If you get tiny white bumps DO NOT PANIC! This can be normal especially for your first Brazilian.  Hair follicles can hold a lot of bacteria and when we remove hair from the root it can bring it all up to the surface.  Don’t pick…simply apply an astringent like witch hazel to the affected area and the bumps will clear up.

  • If you are prone to ingrowns AVOID lace panties as often as possible.  Save those for special occasions.  Cotton panties are a better option for daily wear.

  • Make sure to book your next appointment for 4-6 weeks.  Consistency is the key to less hair, less ingrowns and the best results.

  • If your monthly cycle comes around the time of your appointment you can still come get sugared as long as you wear a tampon or cup.  Just continue your personal hygiene as normal. We are all women, nothing to be self-conscious about. Keep in mind you might be a little bit more sensitive than normal.
